‘Rip A Tune for Peace’ Competition

Are you a musician, singer, dancer, or rapper?
Do you believe that Funk can bring Peace to the World?

If so, and even if not, you are invited to funk your jam into:

Rip a Tune for Peace

The Nobel Funk Off’s Rip a Tune for Peace Competition.

Prize:

Up to three funky peace jammers will be flown from anywhere in the world to Perth in Australia to be in the audience at the Songs for the Dalai Lama concert on 19 June 2011. Accommodation, food and expenses will be included from 17-20 June 2011.

Three prizes will be awarded, one to the winner in each of the following categories:

  • The Best Jam – This Winner will also join The Nobel Funk Off on stage!
  • The Best Jam Effort
  • The Most Popular Jam*

*Calculated by “Likes” minus “Dislikes” on YouTube.

If the winner is under 18, the prize will be AUD$1500 instead of the trip. See Terms for full details.

How to enter:

To enter the competition, head over to the The Nobel Funk Off YouTube Channel and submit a video response to any of The Nobel Funk Off videos that include members of the band. Your entry will automatically be considered in all of the categories so you have three chances to win! The winners will be selected by a celebrity judge and will be announced on the 4th June 2011.

Your video should be a jam over the top of an existing track or a reworking of an existing track. Your jam can be on any instrument including but not limited to the Aeolian Wind Harp. It could also be a dance, a song or even a rap – we’ll try to accept anything that vaguely resembles our videos. Qualifying entries will be accepted as video responses and will be judged for one of the prizes. Click here for YouTube’s guide on how to make a video response.

As Peace has no boundaries, entries are welcome from anyone residing in any country on Earth. And you can submit as many entries as you like.

If none of the current tracks do it for you, then stay tuned because three additional tracks will be released soon. Download the existing tracks from YouTube or you will soon also be able to purchase them from iTunes (links coming soon).

And as we are all about Peace, 100% of the profits from iTunes sales will be donated to Social Ventures Australia, a not-for-profit organisation supporting social enterprise and change, in the name of Peace.

For the very lucky person awarded Winner of the Best Jam, The Nobel Funk Off has decided that they would like YOU, as the world’s best Peace Jammer, to play with them on stage, at the Songs for the Dalai Lama concert. This is your opportunity to perform live in front of thousands of peace-loving funksters with the world’s first true supergroup and be part of their project – Peace Has A New Tune. His Holiness The Dalai Lama will appear at the concert and address the audience, so this is sure to be an experience of a lifetime!
